The trisul at Shongewi is a
painting that I have created after observating an area just north west of
Durban and on route to Pietermartizburg. The dark backgroung reflects that
world that we find ourselves within. The journey that has to be taken and
in the foreground the trisul reflecting the trinity stands out and as if a
powerful protector to oneself as we embark on the journey.
Shongweni is also very special to me, as it was at this place that
my mum detaching herself from me before her death. She for the very first
time ever disagreed with me on a matter that we were both discussing. So
the placement and the identification of the Trisul reflects a powerful
bondage and commitment that I should have with the Divine to go forward in
life.
Le Trident à Shongéwi est une
peinture que j’ai créée après avoir observé une région juste au nord-ouest
de Durban en route pour Pietermartizburg. Le sombre arrière-plan
représente le monde que nous trouvons nous-mêmes au-dedans, le voyage que
nous devons entreprendre. Au premier plan, le trident reflétant la trinité
ressort et se présente comme une protection puissante pour soi, au moment
où nous entreprenons le voyage.
Shongéwi est aussi un lieu particulier
pour moi, comme si c’était à cet endroit-là que ma mère se détachait de
moi, juste avant de mourir. Elle était, pour la toute première fois, en
désaccord avec moi à propos d’un sujet dont nous discutions tous les deux.
En définitive, la localisation du trident et le fait de le reconnaître
représentent un lien puissant et un engagement que je me dois d’avoir avec
le Divin pour avancer dans la vie.
